Back in 2002, Samrat's first performance lasted for 15 minutes, at Shahrukh Khan live at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata and since then there is no looking back.

Over last few years he has performed for corporate bigwigs like Hero Honda, Pepsi, Coca Cola, Seagrams, Hindustan Levers, Tata Steel, Shapoorji Pallonji, The UB Group, Aditya Birla Group, DLF, Nokia, Samsung, National Geographic, Sanofi Aventis and many more private events & cultural fests.

In 2008, Samrat had the privilege to share stage with Bryan Adams at Palace Grounds, Bangalore. It proved to be a turning point for him. Brought up in the city of Joy - Kolkata, music has always been in his blood. Trained under the guidance of Pandit Nabyendu Bhattacharyya, Gautam Mukherjee and Mukeshji, Samrat has lent his voice to various Hindi movies including duets with Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Shaan, Shreya Ghoshal and many more.

Samrat has also lent his voice to various national jingles including the popular "Paas Aao" commercial for Close Up.

In 2007, his first solo album "Chhuechi Hath Dil Se" was released by Sagarika Music. The song "Majhi Re Majhi" topped all musical charts and was one of the top hits of the year. Other hits included "Jete Jete Pathe" and "Metro".

Samrat has bollywood movies like Chahhat, Ek Bhool Choti Si, Aisha, What's Your Rashee?, Ishq Bukhaar, Junoon, Sadde Naal Pyar Ho Gaya, Pehla Nasha and a host of other albums to his credit.

He is an active professional in several regional music industries across India.
